The Mission Old Town

The food was wonderful, with large portions! We split the Shaved Kale Salad, and they brought out what looked like two full-size servings of salad. Service was great. We never felt rushed. The main dining area is very loud. Outside dining was much quieter. The outside dining in the back of the restaurant was much cooler than the front (east facing?).

This review is for the bar as we got drinks and guacamole. The drinks are really good here. Our bartender made us the best whiskey sours. We were here in the afternoon so it wasn’t very busy, but still noisy. Not so noisy though that we couldn’t have a conversation. I love the interior with all the chandeliers. It’s just gorgeous. And check out the mission church next-door. It’s very beautiful.

I love The Mission for its modern Latin flavors and great atmosphere. It’s perfect for date nights or special occasions, and their tableside guacamole is a must every time I go.

The Mission is a great place to eat anytime but especially on your birthday! The food is amazing! They do the best table guac in town!! The patio is perfect this time of year with the fireplace, the staff are so friendly and the service is great!

WOW!! What a great place! Cool vibes and knowledgeable staff (Shout out to Robert behind the bar) made for a memorable experience. Chef Matt’s culinary vision gave me some of the best food I’ve ever had!! If his other restaurants are anything like The Mission, sign me up try them all.

Lunch time has a smaller menu, but still enough options. We had the carne asada and chicken tacos with the table guacamole. 5stars!

Valentine’s dinner at The Mission Old Town exceeded expectations. The salsa tasted freshly charred—smoky peppers and tomatoes shining through. Shrimp were grilled perfectly, sauces zesty and tart just how I like. Margaritas were yummy, too. Romantic vibe, great music, and the waitstaff was so friendly. Grateful they didn’t do a prix fixe menu (those usually disappoint). I prefer this spot over The Mission Kierland. Only downside: the tables felt oddly high (I’m 5’2), which made it a little awkward to eat with my SO.

The food and service here were both outstanding. Our server Alfonso did an incredible presentation of the menu, gave some great background info on the chef, and made some amazing recommendations to some items that I personally wouldn’t have considered looking at the menu myself. He was able to passionately describe most of things on the menu that enhanced the overall appeal and genuinely raised excitement for each dish that was ordered. I’m visiting from Dallas, Tx and he also went out of his way to hand write a list for more places to go in the area. Impeccable service for a brief lunch stop.

From out of town and first time, dining in at the Mission. I wanted to try the shrimp tacos. The tacos themselves were very good.Did not find the sauce appealing, though remind me of a thousand island dressing type. Overall, a bit pricey for the meal, service was very good and the ambiance inside and out is just amazing.
